12 Days Uganda Safari

Proposed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Your Hotel – Uganda

Upon arrival, our company guide will pick you up from your place of residence or the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Meals and overnight at Airport Guest Link, Blue Monkey Guest House (budget) / Papyrus Guest House, The Boma Hotel, 2 Friends Hotel (mid-range) / Protea Hotel Entebbe, Hotel No.5 (luxury). Bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel or residence in Entebbe and transfer northwards to Murchison Falls National Park, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. After lunch, proceed to the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge creating a thunderous roar and beautiful rainbows in the spray.

Meals and overnight at Red Chilli Camp, Bwana Tembo Lodge, Nkundwa Nile View Lodge (budget) / Pakuba Safari Lodge, Murchison River Lodge (mid-range) / Paraa Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 3: Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, enjoy a game drive in the northern sector of the park, rich in savannah wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, leopards (if lucky), hippos, and various bird species. After lunch, take a two-hour boat cruise to the base of the falls, where wildlife and water birds gather in large numbers.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart Murchison Falls heading southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the Great Western Rift Valley. Enjoy scenic views of traditional homesteads and farms. Lunch en route in Hoima or packed lunch.The journey takes approximately 7–9 hours.

Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge, Kibale Forest Lodge (budget) / Primate Lodge, Turaco Treetops (mid-range) / Chimpundu Lodge, Crater Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Community Tour

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters by 8:00 am for briefing before chimpanzee tracking. There is a 95% chance of seeing chimpanzees in this forest. Return for lunch and later visit Bigodi Community to explore schools,
craft projects, and conservation initiatives.

Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge, Kibale Forest Lodge (budget) / Primate Lodge, Turaco Treetops (mid-range) / Chimpundu Lodge, Crater Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Community Visit

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Africa’s most diverse parks. Visit Ruboni Community on the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains en route. Later enjoy a game drive as you head to your lodge.

Dinner and overnight at Enganzi Game Lodge, ParkView Safari Lodge (mid-range) / Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 7: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

After breakfast, go for a game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, home to lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, and warthogs. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel between Lakes Edward and George, the best place to view a wide variety of wildlife and birds.

Dinner and overnight at Enganzi Game Lodge, ParkView Safari Lodge, Elephant Hab Lodge (mid-range) / Mweya Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 8: Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions & Transfer to Bwindi

After breakfast, drive to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to search for the famous tree-climbing lions. After lunch, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Dinner and overnight at Trekkers Tavern (budget) / Bakiga Lodge, Gorilla Mist Camp (mid-range) / Mahogany Springs Lodge, Gorilla Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 9: Batwa Trail Experience – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for the Batwa Trail experience. Learn about the Batwa people’s ancient forest lifestyle, hunting skills, medicinal plants, and cultural traditions. Part of the tour fee directly supports the Batwa community.

Meals and overnight at Trekkers Tavern (budget) / Bakiga Lodge (mid-range) / Mahogany Springs Lodge, Gorilla Safari Lodge (luxury).

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, attend a briefing and begin mountain gorilla trekking. Trekking may take between 2–4 hours or longer. You will spend one hour with the gorillas. Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and a scenic boat ride.

Meals and overnight at BirdNest Resort (luxury) / Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort (mid-range) / Bunyonyi Rock Resort (budget).

Day 11: Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, return to Kampala with stops at Igongo Cultural Centre and the Uganda Equator at Kayabwe for photography and water experiments.

Overnight at Malakai Eco Lodge (budget) / 2 Friends Hotel (mid-range) / La Petite Village (luxury).

Day 12: City Tour & Transfer to Airport

After breakfast, enjoy a Kampala city tour visiting major attractions. Lunch in the city before transfer to the airport for departure depending on your flight schedule.
