Detailed 14-Day Rwanda – Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight at Five to Five Hotel (Bed & Breakfast).

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park & Canopy Walk

Morning drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, arriving in the afternoon for an exciting canopy walk offering aerial views of the rainforest. Overnight at Chimpanzee Lodge Nyungwe (Budget) or Emeraude Kivu Resort (Deluxe).

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking – Nyungwe Forest

After briefing at the park headquarters, proceed to Uwinka area for chimpanzee tracking. Spend up to one hour with the chimpanzees before returning to the lodge for lunch and afternoon relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Enjoy a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park with a stop in Butare to visit the National Museum of Rwanda. Continue to Volcanoes National Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Mount Bisoke Hike

Morning briefing followed by a guided hike to the summit of Mount Bisoke and its beautiful crater lake. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi (Uganda)

Morning golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park. After the activity, cross into Uganda and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Dinner and overnight at Trekkers’ Tavern (Budget) or Bakiga Lodge (Deluxe).

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Early morning briefing followed by a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience. Spend one magical hour with the mountain gorillas before returning to your lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. Afternoon game drive and lodge check-in.

Day 9: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains followed by lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, home to hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife.

Day 10: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Exit Queen Elizabeth National Park with a short game drive and transfer to Kibale Forest. Visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk.

Day 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi, arriving in the evening. Visit the Top of the Falls for breathtaking views.

Day 12: Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise

Morning game drive in the northern sector followed by lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls.

Day 13: Transfer to Kampala & Rhino Tracking

Drive back to Kampala with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Overnight in Kampala (Bed & Breakfast).

Day 14: Departure

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
