7 Days Uganda Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast transfer northwards to Murchison Falls National Park en route tracking rhinos in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. After lunch in Masindi Town, drive up to the top of Murchison falls - a magnificent spot where the Nile water compresses into a narrow gorge of over 1 km wide down through a 7 meter canyon forming a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray - the wonders of the Nile River! Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge (luxury)/ Pakuba Safari lodge(deluxe)/ Red Chilli (budget)

Day 2: Game Drive and the Nile Boat Cruise

After an early breakfast, you will tour the Northern part with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs and lions, if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species. After lunch, go for a two-hour cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls from where appalling water escapes through the narrow gorge forming a great thunderous uproar. Along the falls water birds and mammals are in great numbers. Meals and overnight at red chili (budget)/ Pakuba safari lodge (mid range)/ Para safari lodge (luxury).

Day 3: Transfer to Kibaale Forest National Park

After breakfast, transfer from Murchison Falls National Park heading Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley while enjoying the sights of traditional homesteads and farms in this verdant country side. Murchison to Kibale drive is approximately 7 to 9 hours depending on the weather conditions. Stay an overnight at Chimp Guest House (Budget)/ Primates Lodge (Midrange)/ Crater Safari Lodge (Luxury).

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up for an early morning breakfast to get ready for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park. You need to get to the park early enough for briefing by the the senior park ranger guide. At 8.30 am you will be transferred to starting point from where the search for chimpanzees begins. There are 95% chances of seeing the chimpanzees in this forest. By mid day you are expected to be back for lunch and later proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park for an evening game drive. Dinner & overnight at Pumba Safari Lodge (Budget) Enganzi/ Park View Safari Lodges (Midrange)/ Katara lodge (Luxury).

Day 5: Ishasha Sector Tree-climbing lions and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After an early breakfast transfer to Bwindi impenetrable Forest National Park through Isasha sector know for tree-climbing lions which are only here in the whole country. Savannah Hotel is ideal for lunch after a game drive in Ishasha. Arrive in Bwindi in the evening. If you bear gorilla permits for Buhoma sector, a Batwa community trail will be a highlight as you will be treated to cultural dance and music. Overnight stay at Four Gorillas Logde/ Mahogany Springs (Luxury)/ Bakiga Logde/ Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (Midrange)/ Trekkers Tavern (Budget).

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking & Community Visit -  Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

This morning you will have to wake up very early to get ready for Gorilla tracking. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are always park guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Trekkers Tavern(budget)/ Bakiga Lodge/ Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge (mid range)/ Four Gorilla lodge (luxury)

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala or Transfer to Kigali.

After breakfast, set off to Kampala with stopover to look at the Royal Drum makers, the Equator -where you will be able to stand and be on both hemispheres at once, arriving in the Entebbe in the evening for overnight at your Hotel or Transfer to Kigali depending on your flight schedule.
