Detailed itinerary;
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport and transfer to your Hotel
Welcome to Uganda the Pearl of Africa! After a safe landing at our airport in Entebbe, our driver will transfer you to Le Petit Village / Sheraton Hotel (5-6 hours’ drive) BB
Day 2: Transfer to Ngamba Islands Chimp Sanctuary
Transfer to Entebbe at UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Educational Centre)/ Entebbe Zoo. The Island guide will meet you to brief you about the Island. You will transfer from land by a motor speedboat to the island. You will ride across the shores of Lake Victoria the second largest fresh water in the world. Crossing over to Ngamba Island takes 45 minutes. Welcome to Ngamba Island, home to 39-orphaned chimpanzees! Ngamba islands are part of the archipelago Koome group of islands. After arrival, it is feeding time! Watch the chimps interact with each other and feed. You will notice we as humans have so much in common with these lovely creatures like the way they grab food, eat and chew it, clap among other behaviors. In the evening, go for a nature forest walk or do birding. Relax and dinner at Ngamba Island Tented Camp.
Day 3: Forest walk on Ngamba Island and then transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, if you have approved medical qualifications go for a forest walk on the island. Get intimate with our closest relatives as they climb you, pull your hair, or just walk along holding your hand! Enjoy lunch. It is really a fascinating experience! Take a walk in the forest in
search for birds or relax at the lake shores. After, transfer back to the mainland in Entebbe and later to Kampala. Stay overnight at La Petite Village / Sheraton Hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to Jinja for Full Day white Water Rafting Experience
Depart Kampala and drive to Jinja. It is in Jinja where you stumble on the source the Nile River, the longest river in Africa. you will head for a wild and exclusive adventure along the Nile. You will explore the Nile on a boat as you peddle past six different grades of rapids with your wooden pedal. Expect to be overturned with your boat as you pass these rapids as you enjoy one of the most thrilling adventures where only the strong hearted will participate. After, we move on to our main destination Jinja. Jinja is located at northern end and east bank of Lake Victoria. Stay overnight at Jinja Nile Resort / Wild waters.
Day 5: Quad biking and afternoon Kayaking
After breakfast, we will go on a 4-hour quad bike safari. Get to drive on quad bikes through the lush countryside around Bujagali Village. Drive yourself over some of the most beautiful terrain in the world. No experience is required and all protective clothing is provided such as boots, overalls. This may as well turn out to be one of the most fascinating experience for first-timers. Spend the afternoon after Lunch relaxing off or ride along the shores of the Nile kayaking! Day 6: Transfer to Murchison falls NP
After breakfast transfer northwards to Murchison Falls national park en route tracking rhinos in Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. After lunch in Masindi Town drive up to the top of Murchison falls – a magnificent spot where the Nile water compresses into a narrow gorge of over 1 km wide down through a 7- meter canyon forming a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the wonders of the Nile River! Day 7: Game drive and the Nile boat cruise
After an early breakfast, tour the Northern part with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs and lions, if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species. After lunch, go for a two-hour cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls from where appalling water escapes through the narrow gorge forming a great thunderous uproar. Along the falls water birds and mammals are in great numbers. Return to the lodge for your dinner and an overnight on full board basis at Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 8: Transfer to Kibale national park
After an early breakfast, Leave Kampala for Kibale NP. the drive to the west through Mityana to Mubende and later to Fort Portal is about 6-7hours but rewards you with sights of plantations, local shops and the lifestyle of the people of Uganda. At Mubende, you have a chance to visit the Nakayima tree which acts like a shrine where local people always visit to seek blessings from the spirit Nakayima, a Muganda goddess. You will learn the superstitions surrounding its existence from the local attendant. This 400 years old tree is like a house, with an entrance where ladies with trousers are prohibited from entering. You will proceed to have lunch in Fort Portal as you catch a glimpse of the Tooro kingdom palace as well as local shops and markets. After lunch, you will drive for not more than an hour to Kibale Forest national park whilst glancing at the scenic peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains if the weather allows. Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon Bigodi community tour
Wake up for an early morning breakfast to get ready for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park. You need to get to the park headquarters by 8.00 am local time for briefing on the day's activity by the senior park ranger guide. At 8.30 am you will be transferred to starting point from where the search for chimpanzees begins. There are 95% chances of seeing the chimpanzees in this forest. By midday you are expected to be back for lunch and later go for a community walk to Bigodi community. Explore the community developments like schools, craft shops and other conservation projects that have been developed to help the community as you interact with the local people. Day 10: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP whilst enjoying en route views of the magnificent Rwenzori mountains, a chance to visit the Ndali crater area for scenic viewing and later glance at the local businesses in Kasese town. Proceed to enter the park with a game drive, viewing different wildlife species. Arrive at the lodge early enough for lunch. After lunch take a game drive around the park as you look out for the common residents like elephants, buffalos, bush bucks among others. Continue to reach the Katwe crater area as you glimpse at the locals mining salt and learn of the other community projects. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 11: Game drive and Kazinga channel boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning breakfast, undertake a morning game drive to the Kasenyi area expecting to view early morning predators such as leopards, and lions, different antelope species, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, warthogs, waterbucks, etc. For birders, QE national park is a birders’ paradise with over 606 species including a variety of migratory and Albertine Rift Endemics. In the afternoon, at 14:00 hrs you will walk down to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise along the kazinga channel between lakes Edward and George. This is the best place to see a cross section of all the wildlife in this park. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 12: Ishasha game drives & Transfer to lake Bunyonyi.
You will have a morning breakfast go for a game drive through the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park for the tree climbing lions. Have lunch enroute and proceed to lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight stay Birdnest Resort
Day 13: Boat Cruise and transfer to Bwindi National Park
After an early breakfast, you have a boat along the lake with great views of the islands and learn more about the islands’ History. You will return to the lodge for lunch and then drive to Bwindi National Park. Dinner and overnight at Mt. Gahinga Hotel/ Chameleon Hill Lodge
Day 14: Golden monkey tracking and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda
After an early breakfast, you have an option of tracking the rare golden monkey on the slopes of Mt. Mgahinga or embark on a cultural trail to the Batwa community. This Pygmy, tribe has an interesting culture as you listen to their stories, visit their caves and participate in their traditional dances and other activities. After any of the activities, transfer to Volcanoes NP in Rwanda. The park shelters a third of the World’s remaining mountain Gorillas and has 5 of the 8 volcanoes that make up the Virunga chain of Volcanoes including Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Sabinyo and Gahinga. Day 15: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes NP
Report to the park headquarters after a cup of coffee with your packed lunch for briefing by the Senior park ranger guide. Proceed thence to track the man’s evolutionary cousin in this light forest as you hike up and down the slopes of the volcanoes. The time you will spend tracking will depend on where the Gorillas will have spent the previous night. Once you sight them, you will be given an hour to observe and learn much about their behaviors as you take photos to show your people at home. Day 16: Transfer to Kigali for Culture tour and Genocide-museum and departure
After breakfast, transfer to Kigali for a visit to the Gisozi genocide memorial site as you picture out the terrifying memories of the 1994 survivors of one of the most horrific disasters the world has known where the Hutu massacred thousands of Tutsi and moderate Hutu in less than 100 days. Proceed to visit Hotel des Mille Collines where the movie; ‘Hotel Rwanda’ was acted and then to the crafts markets and other local markets as you try out your bargaining skills with the local business men and women. Explore the city regarded as the region’s cleanest capital for the rest of your day. You will late be transferred to the airport for your departure flight depending on schedule.
