Queen Elizabeth National Park is a crown jewel of Uganda’s wildlife offering. Uganda’s famous tree-climbing lions make this a favourite stop on Uganda’s safari route.
Situated between Kibale National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park features some of Uganda’s most incredible wildlife and landscapes. Spanning x kiliometers north to south, there is much to explore.
On the Southern end, you can witness the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha, something you can only find here in Uganda. Baby lions frolick in the trees and aduld mailes sleep the day away as they prepare for the night’s hunt. Mnay other animals, such as impala, kob, warthogs, leopards, baboons, and hyenas are regularly spotted, as well as giant African elephants.
When we aren’t out doing a game drive, adventurers can explore the Mweye section of the park, where you can take a riverboat through Lake Edward, shared by the DRC and Uganda, and observe elephants bathing alongside water buffalo, hippos, and beautiful white cranes. In this area of the park you can also take in the breathtaking views on the rim of volcanic craters and visit a viewing station where you can see both Lake Edward and Lake George.
